Welcome!
Greater Falls Connections (GFC) is a public health coalition. Coalitions connect multiple sectors of the community–including businesses, parents, media, law enforcement, schools, faith organizations, health providers, social service agencies, and government--to collaborate and develop plans, policies and strategies to provide evidence-based comprehensive public health approaches to support prevention efforts. We also work with the coalition to help with community building to create a place to live that is more resilient and healthy.
GFC has been doing this work since 2004. It started with meetings and discussions about prevention in the community under the name Greater Falls Prevention Coalition. In a response to community input, the coalition developed new vision and mission statements in 2012, and dropped 'prevention coalition' from its name in 2013 and took on the name Greater Falls Connections. For a more complete history, click here.
We serve the Windham Northeast Supervisory Union (WNESU) area communities of Rockingham (Bellows Falls, Saxtons River, Bartonsville, Brockways Mills, and Cambridgeport), Westminster, Grafton, and Athens.
This means pretty much anyone in these communities can be a member of
the Greater Falls Connections public health coalition – including you!
Being a member of the coalition is free and all you need to do is:
-
Think that what we do is important;
-
Volunteer with or contribute to our work in some way;
-
Attend coalition meetings, trainings, and events;
-
Follow and share our social media content; and/or
-
Participate in a committee, like the Advisory Board or TAG Team.
